Can Things Be Different Than They Are Now?

Many people can hardly imagine things being different than they are now.Maybe  we should work harder at it.

Can you imagine being highly skilled at something that  you are mediocre at  today.  If you are not good at answering objections, can you imagine that someday you will be excellent.

If you are not good at closing, can you imagine soon you will be highly skilled?

Try imagining this in reverse. Can you imagine NOT knowing how to drive a car?  There was a time when you did not know how to drive.  You learned.  You practiced.  You got better.  You got good.

     If you play music
     If you scuba dive
     If you fly a plane
     If you snow ski
Can you remember when you did not know how to do these things well?

Time and practice is the magic ingredient.  You spend time. You get better.  You spend more time you get really good.

If you are new at _______________, hang in there before you know it, you will be an expert.  People will be asking  you for advice.

To Get A Florida Real Estate License, You Must Have A High School Diploma

To get a Florida real estate license, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  A GED would be an equivalent.
Here is the facts.  If the Department of Business and Professional Regulation knows that you do  not graduate from high school or get your GED, they will not issue you a Florida real estate license.
If you lie about this on your application, that is fraud.
If you are thinking of applying for a Florida real estate license and you do not have a high school diploma or GED, investigate getting one.  When you discover how easy it is to get, you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner.  A lot of things are like that.  Starting a real estate career would be another example.

Prospecting Sucess

Yesterday, at Climer School of Real Estate, we finished a 45 hour post license class.  The future of real estate in Orlando, florida is in good hands.

What skills do you need to be sucessful in real estate?  You need prospecting skills.  You must learn how to find prospects.  What kind of prospects?  Good qualified motivated prospects are the most fun and lucrative to work with.

You must develop and implement a plan to find prospects.  You must have a plan to find someone to talk to.

I assume we all know that listing is more lucrative than buyers.  Listings are also less aggravation.  It is my observation that most of my student's aggravation comes from the other Realtor.  Check that out.  Find a way to get yourself talking to a seller that needs to sell his house.  You must.  You must.

If you don't want to call for sale by owners, or expired listings or foreclosure victims, find a way to get them to call you.  One or the other has to happen if you want to make money. Andy Brown said that he has been listening to Mike Ferry for years teach licensed Real Estate Agents to call FSBO's, Exprireds, and Withdrawns.

You must develop prospecting skills.  If you don't say hello to a prospect, you can't say," Thanks for listing with me."

I meet new Realtors that want to list houses and make money without hunting for prospects.  This is a dream.  Come to my 45 hour post license class. I will teach you a few ways to make them call you.  I will also teach you how to call them.  Finding prospects is an essential skill.

Start A New Ritual

Rituals, like habits make life easy to navigate.  January is a great month to start a new ritual.

What if you started a new ritual of running the expired listings off  the computer every morning. You got out of bed and ran today's expired listings off the MLS.  What if you started doing that every day.  You kept that up for about a month.

You didn't call them or mail them or anything stressful like that.  You just ran them off the computer every day and looked at them.  If you did this for some time, it would become a ritual.  It would become something that it is easier to do than it is to not do it. Who knows?  If you kept it up, you might decide to call one.

Look at the rituals in your life now.  Everyday, you--------------- fill in the blank, Go to Starbucks, read the sport section of the paper, check out the facebook news.  Rituals are like habits.  They are easy to do, hard to not do.

Why not create some rituals  that will put money in your pocket?  Post a blog post every day.  That could become a ritual

Read the FSBO ads every day.  That could become a ritual.

Go to the Clerk of the Circuit Courts website and see who is being foreclosed on today.  Maybe you could help them with this huge problem.  That could get to be a ritual after a short time.

Maybe you could start a ritual of stopping in to visit with a foreclosure victim on the way home every day. Just say hello and maybe ask if  they would like to read an article you wrote about deficiency judgements. Maybe if you stopped in to visit with a few every week, one of them might need some help.

Rituals Can enslave you or serve you.  Create some positive, lucrative rituals.now.  You will be glad you did later.
